Subject: Welcome to Fall 05
Fall 05 semester has already begun. Welcome new students and welcome back
returning students. I wish All of you a good start and a successful
semester.
Please read this e-mail and take action on the items that apply to you and
your situation.
1. To maintain your legal F-1 status, it is the responsibility of all
international students to
* Register and maintain your full time course load (at least 9 hours
for grad and 12 hours for undergrad) throughout the semester. Only ONE
Internet course can be used to fulfill your full time course load, the rest
must be regular classroom base courses. Contact the International Student
Adviser (ISA) if you have questions.
* Report your new address directly to the International Student Office
(ISO) within 10 days of the change. You can submit your change of address
online

(lion at leo.tamu-commerce.edu) and regularly check for importatnt messages and
announcement sent from the school and the ISO by clicking on Leo-Mail
* Check the expirartion date of your I-20 ( page 1, # 5 ) and
contact the ISA to extend your I-20 within 30 days before the expiration
date. A new bank statement is required when extension is requested.

3. Students who change major, add major, or change degree level: you
must report your new major/degree to the ISA and request a new I-20 with the
new major. You must bring your current I-20 with you when you make a
request.
4. For students who are 20 hours GA/TA or are enrolled in your last
semester and registered for less than required course load this semester
(less than 9 hours for grad and 12 hours for undergrad), you must report to
the ISA so that you can be reported in SEVIS to prevent being out-of-status
