SUBJECT: CELEBRATE International Education Week (November 14-18)
The sixth annual International Education Week (IEW), endorsed by the U.S.
Departments of State and Education will take place November 14-18, 2005.
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate and celebrate
this event and activities on campus to emphasize global understanding
through international education and exchange.
The AIS (Association of International Students) and the International
Student Services of Texas A&M University-Commerce invite you to celebrate
this event with us.
Monday, November 14
11:30am-1pm, East Lawn Circle---- International Education Week Awareness,
music, drinks, candy, and fun
1:00pm-2pm, 2nd floor MSC Showcase--- International Tree and showcase
decoration
Friday, November 18
6:00pm-10pm, Lion's lair--- Potluck and Fashion Show
Dress in your native costumes to showcase your country fashions
and bring your favorite native dish to share.
There will be 1st place and 2nd place winners for both Potluck
and Fashion show.
Come out to exchange and celebrate the difference among us
during the International Education Week and have fun.
ADMISSION is FREE but we ask that you bring your favorite native
dish to share.
Saturday, November 19
1:00pm-6pm, MRC--- International Student Sports Day
Come out for some fun and play some games of your choice.
Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, there will be a Cricket Tournament
comprised of 4 or 5 Indian student teams. This year the tournament is being
held in conjunction with the celebration of International Education Week.
The games will be played on the open field, to the right of Culver Street,
across from Braums and the Commerce Middle School. We are not quite sure
when the games will begin but perhaps by 10 a.m.
