Dear former participants of the Humor Research Conference and those who expressed an interest,

With the website updated (but still showing a submission deadline of Dec. 1), we have decided to extend the deadline to Sunday, December 7, 2014, midnight, to make it possible for more of you to join us:

The conference hotel (see below) is now accepting reservations (by phone, group code for online reservations to follow.

Travel to the conference will be easy this time, with DART trains connecting the venue to both Dallas airports. Updates on the webpage soon.

The 5th annual Humor Research Conference (HRC) 2015 in Northeast Texas will take place as an international multidisciplinary all-plenary 3-day event at Texas A&M—Commerce’s Universities Center in downtown Dallas, TX. The theme of this year’s HRC is “Humor and Pedagogy.” Invited speakers include John Banas (U of Oklahoma), Catherine Evans Davies (U of Alabama), and Karina Hess Zimmermann (U Autónoma de Querétaro, México). Selected peer-reviewed papers will appear in a special issue of E-JournALL (EuroAmerican Journal for Applied Linguistics and Languages, http://www.e-journall.org/), guest-edited by Salvatore Attardo.

Please submit:
Abstract for general submission (up to 250 words; plus 1 extra page for images, references, etc.); indicate if paper (20m + Q/A) or poster or either; panels of 3 papers (90 minutes); workshops (90 minutes).
