Hello, 518 and 718 Students,

On Saturday, February 18th, at 10:00 am, Sarah Northam, Scholarly Communications Librarian with Waters Library, will be conduction a workshop on tips and tricks for navigating the library and internet sources for dissertation and thesis research. Even if you are a thesis student, please feel free to take part in the workshop; it is free!  Topics will include the library databases, personalizing OneSearch, citation searching, and best practices for Google Scholar. At the beginning of the workshop, I will review the formatting requirements of the Graduate School.  I will review the thesis/dissertation template and the companion piece to the template, the Thesis and Dissertation Formatting Guide, the Graduate School provides, highlighting the requirements students are to follow.

TDS Deadlines for Spring 2023:
Last day to defend final dissertation* **:  Friday, March 24th
Last day to submit final thesis or dissertation to the Graduate School/TDS: Friday, April 7th
Last day to submit thesis/dissertation proposals to the Graduate School/TDS for Spring 2023 approval: Friday, April 28th

TDS Deadlines for Summer 2023:
Last day to defend final dissertation* **:  Friday, June 16th
Last day to submit final thesis or dissertation to the Graduate School/TDS: Friday, June 23rd
Last day to submit thesis/dissertation proposals to the Graduate School/TDS for Summer 2023 approval: Friday, July 28th

* Schedule Forms<http://www.tamuc.edu/academics/graduateSchool/graduateForms.aspx> for dissertation defenses (proposal and final) are due the 20th of the month prior to the defense date (if the 20th of the month falls on a weekend or university holiday, the deadline is the working day prior to the 20th).
** Thesis students must submit the Notification Form for the Final Thesis Defense<http://www.tamuc.edu/academics/graduateSchool/documents/thesis--dissertation-services/Notification%20form%20for%20Thesis%20Defense1.pdf> at least 7 days prior to the defense.

Early TDS submissions are encouraged. Approvals for submissions received past the deadline will be processed for review and approval for the following semester.
