To be a successful and enriching experience for participating faculty, we can only accept 10 participants. Department heads and college deans are encouraged to fund a one-course reassigned time for each faculty member attending the course as it is a semester long and involves intensive work. In the interest of identifying participants before class schedules for the spring semester are due, I propose the following process and deadline. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>The interested faculty will need to complete the proposal form and send to their department heads via email and copy their deans. Upon review, department heads make recommendations to their respective deans for participants. The deans will then review and select the proposed projects that, in the dean¡¯s estimation, will have the best chance of being funded. Those projects will then be submitted to the Vice Provost for Research via email. The Vice Provost for Research will then review the submitted forms and will select the final 10 projects that she believes will have the best funding possibilities. In order for the spring schedules to reflect the course reassignments for selected projects/faculty, the instructor will need the selected Forms for review no later than Wednesday, September 25th. </span><span style='color:#1F497D'> We should have a final decision by October 15th.</span><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>I look forward to receiving many worthy projects!<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Sheri Dave | Director<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Office of Research and Sponsored Programs<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><a href="mailto:Sheri.Dave@tamuc.edu">Sheri.Dave@tamuc.edu</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>P O Box 3011 | Commerce, TX 75429-3011<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Tel. 903-886-5964 | Fax 903-486-8784 | <a href="http://www.tamuc.edu">www.tamuc.edu</a> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Texas A&M University-Commerce<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div></body></html>
