Good afternoon :

One of the hallmarks of TAMUC is the influence our faculty exert statewide by serving on volunteer educator groups for the THECB and TEA. Please consider the request below as a major service opportunity and as a clear pathway towards reaching our strategic goals of statewide leadership in STEAM education.

Dear Texas Educator,

On behalf of the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Educational Testing Service (ETS) is seeking instructors at higher educational institutions to serve on a virtual item review committee for the TExES tests listed below.

We are also interested in applicants from various regional education service centers who are certified in the TExES tests listed below. Please note, however, that committee members cannot be current ETS TExES item writers or ETS consultants.

Committee Meeting Dates

The committee meetings will last approximately two to four (2-4) hours over a period of one to three (1-3) days.. To ensure that we have the greatest amount of participation possible, we are surveying interested applicants for their availability to attend meetings on the following days:

We ask you to participate in the review that matches your teaching experience and certification.

Technology Requirements

Because the meetings will be conducted virtually, interested candidates can participate from any secure computer that has Internet access and a simultaneously operating telephone line.

Professional Development

Texas recognizes that serving on a test-development committee supports the professional growth of educators. Certificates of Completion will be issued to participants following the meeting. The documented hours for committee work sessions may be applied toward Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for the Standard Certificate renewal.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the attached profile sheet and return it to TExESCommittees at ets.org . If you are selected, we will contact you with more details. Please forward this e‑mail to qualified colleagues, friends, or professors who might be interested in participating.

ETS and TEA thank you for your consideration. We look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
