Hi, Pam, thank you for your hard work.
Hi, folks, I have three comments:
1. On 3.2.2: the course number for thesis is 518, and project 595
in math. For other departments, do you have a different course number
for thesis and project?
2. On 3.2.5.4: Contact hours are not clear for math graduate
students unless we define contact hours. A math GA teaching 6 credit
hours is considered a full-time GA based on the Graduate Scholl, which
means the GA works 20 hours, although he/she has 6 contact hours in
classroom. Thus if a math faculty member supervise 1 full-time GA who
teaches two classes should receive 1 workload credit.
3. Students may register for thesis and project in a summer. The
faculty should receive workload credit correspondingly. Am I correct?
Should this be a summer pay?
Thank you.

Subject: Workload Procedure
Hello, everyone.
After today's impromptu meeting, a few revisions have been made
to what we hope is to be our final rough draft of this procedure.
...while it is true that this policy will need to be revisited in future
years, we are hopeful that this draft will at least meet the mandate
from the university procedure that says we must establish our own
college-wide standards for faculty to receive credit for much of the
work that has been done in the past as an overload.
The most recent changes were agreed upon by the faculty at
today's meeting, and I'd like to thank Kurtis Williams for agreeing to
be our scribe for these additions/edits to the procedure. (Thank you!)
Please read and respond as you see fit.
Thank you!
Pamela.
