Best news out of THECB in a long time.
May be they were finally able to see what a disaster that policy would have been to STEM programs across the State.

Hi Everyone,
* I have developed the beginnings of a website for TPC. It is just a start and still needs a lot of work.
Eventually, I will have the materials governing our operation (appendices, etc), our facilities, etc. Once I get all the materials up on the site I will then let our web people take the material and spruce it up to make it look more professional. They wanted me to put up all of the material first.
http://www.tarleton.edu/tpc/index.html
* For now, the website has our Fall course teaching schedules posted with times for you to use in scheduling and to send along to your TTVN coordinator and those in your programs doing advising. It also has future schedules based upon our course draft last fall along with tentative times.
http://www.tarleton.edu/tpc/FallA.html
Core upper-level physics classes for Group 1 are the same as in the past: MWF 11:00 & MWF 1:00.
Group 2 has chosen 10:00 MWF and 10:50 TR for their upper-level physics core class delivery times.
The new senior research classes are presently scheduled at 12:00 on either MW or M depending on if they were the 1 or 2 hour course that semester.
For the fall, the advanced physics elective is "Introduction to Astrophysics". It is being provided to both groups by Carlos Bertulani at Texas A&M-Commerce at 1:00 on TR.
I've based future semester scheduling with the 1:00 TR slot being used for the Advanced Physics Elective Courses which should enable us to allow students from both groups to take the Advanced Elective courses depending on their interest and is early enough to avoid most afternoon lab conflicts for those who hire their majors as lab assistants. We will see how it goes and if we need to make future changes.
* I have also put up faculty material across the TPC by discipline based upon what was supplied in the visual vitas that were sent to me for the Joint Degree proposal. If you have additional faculty that are not on the site, they just need to send me the visual vita in the format that we were using and I can post their information. Presently Pictures are in all different sizes and orientation. I would prefer a landscape picture that I can scale down to 250 pixels wide. Over time I will try and get all the pictures the same size to improve the site's look so I might as well start with all new pictures. For each faculty member, I made a link for their faculty webpage if I could find one. If they have a different page that that they prefer, just send me the link.
