Subject: [FSNotify] Preliminary Report of the SACS-COC Off-SiteReaffirmation Committee

University Community,

Texas A&M University-Commerce has progressed through another step in its decennial reaffirmation of accreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges. As you are aware, the Compliance Certification (453 pages of narrative, 3424 evidence items, and credentials for 750 faculty) was submitted during the first week of September. The Off-Site Committee met in Atlanta to finalize its decisions during the first week of November and has now issued its report. It is referred to as a Preliminary Report because it is the first in a series of reviews. A&M-Commerce may address the issues of the Preliminary Report by submitting a Focused Report, due mid-January 2014 along with the Quality Enhancement Plan. The On-Site Committee will visit campus during the first week of March 2014, and submit their final report to the Commission for its decision to be made in early December 2014.

The Preliminary Report indicated that 81 of 97 Principles of Accreditation were found in compliance. There were also 16 Principles marked as non-compliant. Many of the issues will be addressed in A&M-Commerce’s Focused Report. A link to the Preliminary Report is provided, with the document posted on the Institutional Effectiveness web pages:
