Good morning colleagues:
As you know, Greg, Pelin, Jeff, Derald, and Eileen have sent out a draft
college mission statement for your feedback, editing, and general
commentary. I want to thank them for their work and hope you can too.
As an update, the deans have been instructed to bring their draft
college mission statements to the next Dean's Council meeting. That will
be next Tuesday morning. The provost said last week that, based on those
college drafts, we will be looking at a possible revision of the
institutional mission statement and that it WILL include some reference
to globalization and the QEP (and thank you to Chip for that one).
So please, please, please, set aside a few synapses today or tomorrow to
look at the draft mission statement and get your feedback to one of the
committee members listed in the "cc" line of this note.
I appreciate your attention to defining our future and discovering just
exactly what we can do in this new college we call CoSEA.
-Grady

The MISSIONARIES plan to discuss via email this week and move forward as
quickly as possible asking for comments from the College Faculty. I
will collect and send along to the Committee for consideration.

Certainly and at some point the trigger must be pulled. If you all are
comfortable, then by all means, go for it.

The MISSIONARIES planned to meet thru the week "electronically" to beat

ideas that might arise.

Greg:
I like that a lot.
If it would not be construed as being intrusive, here is what I
thought...
I looked up each of the words in the dictionary and looked for the
roots.
I then rearranged and paraphrased the line into:
Learning, Connection, Discovery
Or even more simply: Discovering the Future.
