[COSEAfaculty] New URL and vote on new email

[Derald Harp]

I, for one, am glad to see this change finally occurring. It's good to finally see the day where we can rid ourselves of dashes and underscores.

As far as emails go, my preference is for C first, with D a very close second. I consider A the lowest of the options.

Thanks,
Derald

Subject: [COSEAfaculty] New URL and vote on new email

Greetings:

There are two major developments on the TAMU-Commerce website; one of which requires your input:

1) Effective immediately, the main URL for the university is www.tamuc.edu. The old www.tamu-commerce.edu URL is still working for now, but it will become non- functional in exactly 10 months. Please make arrangements to phase out any references to the old URL.

2) E-mail addresses will also be changed, but not until we settle on a new naming protocol. The president has asked that we all vote on one of the following options:

A) first_last at tamuc.edu
B) first.lat at tamuc.edu
C) firstlast at tamuc.edu
D) lastfirst at tamuc.edu

As you are well-aware, option "A" causes numerous problems because the underscore between first and last names gets hidden in underlined hyperlinks. If you would like to make comments (on this or any other
topic) to the faculty list, just click "reply all" to this message or send a note to coseafaculty at tamu-commerce.edu.

Either way, please send your vote to Lisa Rabe by the end of this week.

Many thanks, Grady
