[COBAlumni] Message from the Dean of the College of Business, A&M - Commerce

Dear College of Business Alumni, Friends, and Family,

This is a very different email from the one I had planned to send to you on Saturday. But we all woke up to a very different Homecoming from the one we went to bed reminiscing. Saturday was a day of joy - great tailgating crowds, fabulous football, food and fellowship with friends new and old. It was, as I said to President Rudin, "My best Homecoming yet!" Today we are challenged and wondering "What? Why? How?" But as a member of the Lion Family, I know that we are strong and we will come through this.

One of the things I so love about A&M - Commerce is the resilience (some call it our "grit") and the real bond that unites the Lion family. As such, I know that as you recall your time here, celebrate our recent history (our Year in Review Newsletter is attached), and look to our future potential, it will be done with the expectation of a better tomorrow.

Homecoming is many things - but it is always founded in the tradition of coming together as a community. Today, I thank each and every one of you for being part of the College of Business alumni community and invite all of you to join me in lifting up those who need it. While there are no words that anyone can say to express how horrible and senseless the off-campus shooting was, our humanity and optimism remain. I am grateful to all of you for your continued support of the College of Business and Texas A&M University - Commerce. We are a Lion Pride.
