The survey is SO quick and easy, and it really looks like it’ll yield some excellent information. I only have two suggestions: <BR>

</SPAN></FONT><OL><LI><FONT FACE="Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:11pt'>For the approach to basic writing, I wonder if it might be possible/useful to include an “other” category and require that users fill in the blank. Ours is informed by Bartholomae and Petrosky, but it is also very heavily informed by work from the New London Group, activity theory, and the Writing About Writing movement (ala Downs and Wardle, among others). So I selected B&P, but it wasn’t exactly right for us. <BR>
</SPAN></FONT></OL><FONT FACE="Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:11pt'>2. The final page asks if we are willing to be contacted for more questions but in my browser I don’t actually have access to the fields necessary to add any contact information. I used Safari, though. I haven’t tried it in Firefox or a much more common browser, so it may just be a problem for mac users who default to safari. Or maybe just this mac user. :) Just fyi, though. <BR>

Using the comments we received at the CBW workshop in March and with excellent assistance from Kelly Ritter, we have streamlined the National Survey of Basic Writing to make it more user friendly and quicker and easier to complete. Again in response to feedback at the workshop, we've decided to put it up on Survey Monkey; you should be able to preview it by clicking on the link below. Please feel free to let us know if you have questions, comments, or suggestions. Bear in mind that we're limited to 10 questions, but we do hope to be able to get more detailed information from respondents who fill out the form at the end.<BR>

This is our first experience with Survey Monkey, so also let us know if you encounter any technical problems. Once we're sure the Survey is in its final form, we will decide on the most effective way to disseminate it.<BR>
