ALP is a mainstreaming program which has unabashedly stolen many ideas from the pioneers of mainstreaming basic writers, including our own Greg Glau. We've assembled these ideas in a configuration I haven't seen anywhere else and added a few of our own. The results have startled even us. We have doubled the percentage of developmental students who ultimately pass ENG 101 from about 27% to 62%. We do this in one semester instead of two and at slightly less cost per successful student. My coleagues and I will be reporting on the program at 10:30 on Thursday, right after the executive committee meeting; I hope some of you will be able to attend.
We're very excited about the program and about having been selected for CBW's Inny award.
