Looks like another great CBW is in store for us! Thanks, Hannah and Liz!
And with a party! What a great way to end a great day together (alas, Deborah Mutnick and I have a conflict with the afternoon, as we'll be leading another afternoon session . . . but with you in heart and spirit, nonetheless--and later with cocktails!!)

Subject: [CBW_Exec] CBW business--proposals (due Nov. 29) and reception
Hello All:
1. Kathleen, Susan, myself and Liz all said we could look at the proposals for poster sessions for CBW. We received less this year (only 6), but I have looked at them all and they seem of pretty good quality to me. I am attaching them here. Please (those three individuals) send me any up, down, or maybe votes right after Thanksgiving? (If this process seems loose to folks, remember that we wanted to open up the pool of people who came to CBW and CCCC and did not promise a blind review process.)
2. It seems like Liz and I will go ahead with coordinating a reception for Wednesday night after CBW. More on that soon.
Thanks all--
Hannah

Hi everybody:
I had asked Shannon to take me off the CBW board once I started editing College English. That's now begun, so I'm regretfully resigning my seat on the board, just to keep myself from being over-committed. I hope all have a great meeting in STL this year, and continue your very valuable work.
Sincerely,
Kelly

Greetings everyone.
Yes for all 3 items: Exec committee meeting on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning; yes for the Wednesday reception; and yes I can read proposals.
Peace and take good care,
Susan

Hi, all. I think I agree with 1 and 2, except that I can't tell for sure if you meant that we would meet Tuesday evening or Wed morning, Bill. Both are good for me, and I'm excited that the proposed non-funding of "out of state" travel this year supposedly will not apply to me, as my whole department backed my participation at CCCC.
I can read proposals as needed.
Thank you, Liz and Hannah, for moving everything forward. kb

Hi All:
I agree with the others' responses to questions #1 and #2: I'm quite open at this point. (Unfortunately, though, I won't have time to review proposals this year.)

Liz, following your numbered questions...
1. Personally, I have no preferred time or date. (I don't have the session schedule at hand and don't know my own presentation time and date offhand, but wouldn't want my personal schedule to matter much anyway). If everybody in exec will be arriving Tuesday to be ready Weds morning for the workshop, would that be an open time for everybody?
2.The Weds night reception seems fine--my perception is that relatively few events are that evening as it is before the main CCCC sessions begin. And I am glad you are moving forward with it: if we publicize it well, it can be one more step in getting visibility for basic writing (and CBW, of course!).
3. I am happy to review fellowship proposals. I've done it for a number of previous years, so if having experienced reviewers is valuable, sign me up again; but if having new perspectives is more valuable (and assuming you have enough volunteers), I'm not offended if I'm benched to give someone else a turn. Your call, Liz; fine with me either way.
Thanks for the minutes. Looking forward to seeing you all in St. Louis!

i Everyone,
Hope this finds you well and enjoying the fall. Hannah and I wanted to check in on three upcoming issues.
1. Do you have a preferred time/date for the exec committee meeting? Let's try for a date/time. If this doesn't work, I'll create a doodle for us to share out CCCC calendars. I know it's early to do this, but I'd like everyone to get this on their calendar now so that we can schedule our other CCCC's meetings around it.
2. We are moving ahead with the reception. Hannah and I thought that one interesting possibility might be to host it Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. right after the CBW workshop. What do you think about that? Or, are there reasons why that isn't a good idea?
3. We will be sending out the open call solicitation for the CBW workshop shortly. Once that call goes out, we need volunteers to review the proposals. You would be reviewing early in November with about a 2 week turn around time. Any volunteers?
Are there other things you'd like Hannah & I to be aware of right now and to be putting on our collective agenda over the next few months?
Also, I'm attaching minutes from the Executive Board meeting at CCCC. I think I forgot to send those around. :-)
Be well!
Liz
