Hi, Rebecca--

Happy Birthday to your husband! 

Thanks for resending the email you sent Saturday before last. I did get that one and responded with enthusiasm but now I remember not to you directly. I'm such a goofball. Read it aloud to my friend standing next to me as we stood line at Starbucks. We both thought it was a great direction and nodded with enthusaism. My next step was to tell you that too, but I can only guess my time at counter was next and other conversations absorbed me and best laid plans. 


Moral of the story (which I never seem to learn): don't check email everywhere and all the time. Sorry about that. I was working through emails piled up during my time spent last couple days on a program review and doing so oldest first so I hadn't yet gotten to your note resent this morning. From your earlier exchange, I guess I also understood that program was okay as is but talk took another direction (though used same as launching point). 

I can give it any title and abstract you need.  And no rush on that. I won't copy program and details until Thursday and will follow up with you before doing so, likely Thursday morning. Do you want me to copy and paste what you sent Saturday, which was fabulous btw?

Hi Shannon,

I'm in the middle of making a birthday dinner for my husband so can't
respond at length. But in fact my whole presentation is different from what
the program says. I re-sent an e-mail this morning explaining the new focus.
Maybe you didn't get the one I sent 10 days ago.

If you wanted to just take out the whole description, and just use the title
about the Future of Basic Writing, that might be the easiest thing. I don't
really know who gets the program at this point.
