[CBW_Exec] CCCC 2012--featured session query to Peter Adams and Bill Lalicker

Shannon, you might explicitly link the two panels when you propose them
(like Panel X1 and Panel X2). That could work. The danger is the reviewers
feel that to accept one, they must accept both, and that could backfire. So.
. .

I have no idea what other constituencies within the Cs are planning
(plotting?) to ask for featured sessions. But assuming there are many, my
gut thinks you might ask for *one* of these two possible panels to be
featured, lest it seem we want more than our share. I realize this may feel
conservative, and I know we have a little momentum right now. But I also am
sensitive to how overwhelmed Chris (or any conference chair) might feel when
trying to provide a fair range of representation from all groups who ask for
it (via featured). If I were him, and this is just my view, I'd strive for a
featured from each group that asks for it, but not more than one featured
for any. We might look to the "double-featured" structure of this last Cs,
with the doubling always being a Native American presentation/topic, to see
how over-representing one group can lead to a feeling of sameness, or at
worst favoritism (just my view--doesn't have to be others').
