[CBW_Exec] FW: Changes to CBW page

[J. Elizabeth Clark]

Hi,

I updated the mission/about us information. I didn't put the editorial
board information on. Should I? If so, should I make it a separate
page? What do you think?

Liz

Hi, all--

Liz: I LOVE the blog! It looks wonderful and it really is so easy to
navigate. Loaded with fabulous information. Thank you SO much for
doing
this! What a great service to the organization.

Got my butt in gear to get revision suggestions to Sylwester (for the
website). I see these two spaces as working together already, but I¹d
love
for us to chat some over the coming about how to make the best use of
the
relationship. I¹m new to blogs and totally excited about Œem now! But
still
pretty ignorant there.

All: I¹m sharing the changes I sent to Sylwester to be added to the
CBW
pages, and I suspect those will be ready in the next couple of weeks.
Any
other updates/suggestions would be appreciated.

I¹m thinking it might be quite useful to duplicate some of the info at
the
blog. What do you think, Liz? Are these additions others can help with?
I¹m
so new to all this. Changes to the website are cumbersome, so changes
are
often a little slower. Quick with blogs, right Liz?

On the CBW Workshop: Hannah and I are visiting soon and will begin
sharing a
flurry of drafts with you again in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks!
Shannon

Hi, Sylwester--

Can you make a few changes to the CBW pages? I know you have a couple
other
projects in front of this, but perhaps first thing after we return from
the
South Central Writing Centers Association conference next week?

1. Changes to http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/cbw/Contact.html

A. At top of page. change ³Contact Information² to ³CBW Executive
Board²
B. Add Kelly Ritter to our Executive Board

>> Kelly Ritter (Chair, Membership Committee)
>> Director of Composition Program
>> Associate Professor of English
>> University of North Carolina-Greensboro
>> karitter at uncg.edu

2. Changes to ³Editorial Board Members² (
http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/CBW/BWE_-_Board_Members.html)

(I¹ve attached several changes representing the new configuration of
our
editorial board; see ³editorial board²)

3. Changes to Home Page (http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/CBW)
A. To ³News²

   * Visit the new Conference on Basic Writing Blog!

[add link http://cbwblog.wordpress.com/ ]

    *New publication opportunities at BWe

[add link to http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/BWe/Issue_8.1.html)

    *BWe welcomes new Associate Editors!
[add link to (revised) Editorial Board page at
http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/CBW/BWE_-_Board_Members.html)

B. to Awards (no changes needed)
C. to ³Events²

Revise to say
*³Join us for the 2010 CBW Workshop in Louisville, KY, next March²
*²Join us for the 2010 CBW Special Interest Group in March²

For now, link both to http://www.ncte.org/cccc/

We are working on proposals for both now, so those will be ready by May
and
we can post the new proposals there (and/or at the blog?)

4. Changes to http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/cbw/Membership.html (see
attached for revised text, called ³Membership²)

5. Search terms
You might want to work with Michael on this, though I can show you how
to
get into the code and monkey with this. (Okay, I can¹t. I¹m looking at
the
code now and I don¹t know where the labels go. Liz?

Here¹s the problem: When you google ³Journal of Basic Writing² or
³BWe²
(etc), our pages don¹t come up. We need to fix that. Google ³Conference
on
Basic Writing² and you get our page now. But folks need to be able to
find
our publications too.

Thanks, Sylwester!
