[CBW_Exec] FW: Changes to CBW page

Hi, all--

These are the changes I forwarded to Sylwester (originally on March 25 and
again today). I think he has what he needs to make these changes happen
now/asap. 

You¹ll notice the announcement of the 2009 CBW Award for Innovation winner
is included with the prose for the CBW award (attached), which will simply
update what is currently at the CBW Award for Innovation page (
http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/cbw/Contact.html) and added an announcement
with respect to this winner to the home page.

Also included is a request (again) to get Kelly Ritter listed as part of our
Executive Board, a announcement regarding our new editorial board (and a
listing for our new editorial board), and an important request regarding JBW
search terms. 

Though the latter problem may have been rectified somehow. At least through
google, our JBW page shows up forth in the list when I search ³Journal of
Basic Writing² (it¹s at http://orgs.tamu-commerce.edu/cbw/JBW.html ). A
search for ³JBW² isn¹t very effective, though. I¹ve drilled down to page 8
of the search and still don¹t see it.

Journal of Basic Writing should do it for search terms, though. Rebecca: is
google not working for your searches. What other search engines might folks
use? Anyone want to do some usability testing for us?

BTW: A search for the ³conference on basic writing² lists our page first and
Liz¹s blog third (yay!)

A search for ³Basic Writing e-Journal² comes up second, after a ³WAC and
Writing Journals² listing for BWe, which actually sends users to the broken
link at ASU. But I don¹t think that¹ll confuse users too much. The right
link is just right below it. Can¹t miss it!

Folks are getting VERY anxious over here. Understandably so, I think. Do let

You might want to work with Michael on this, though I can show you how to
get into the code and monkey with this. (Okay, I can¹t. I¹m looking at the
code now and I don¹t know where the labels go. Liz?

Here¹s the problem: When you google ³Journal of Basic Writing² or  ³BWe²
(etc), our pages don¹t come up. We need to fix that. Google ³Conference on
Basic Writing² and you get our page now. But folks need to be able to find
our publications too.
