Greetings everyone,
Shannon-- I love the new layout. It's easy to read and very appealing
to the (or at least my) eye. I have a few questions/suggestions:
--Can we foreground EVEN MORE that priority will be given to those
applicants who emphasize how/why attending CBW will benefit their
students/home institutions? The way it reads right now, it still
looks like it's prioritizing individual professional development and
that isn't the direction we'd been wanting to stress. In other words--
when attending benefits students/home institutions, it CERTAINLY has a
profound impact on individual professional development. But the
students/home institutions piece needs to be emphasized. In practice,
those applicants who stress these factors have generally been our
winners.
--Can we replace that word "disseminate"? It sounds too much like
Freire's "banking model" for a CBW award. :) What about changing it
to something about (once again) how applicants plan to implement their
experiences at CBW/CCCC in their classrooms/home institutions?
--Can we add something about CBW's social justice mission? This
addition would once again emphasize that CBW is all about improving
conditions for students/faculty at local institutions and across the
profession, rather than what again reads (to me) like a concentration
on individual personal growth.
Happy spring and warm regards,
Susan
