Greg, it's definitely fine for you to proceed as you suggest for updating the Bedford Bib, and I also think that the increase in ESL inclusion is a great idea--more and more of what we do is influenced by contrastive, transnational, globalized, and hybrid rhetorics, and that's getting into our BW classrooms. All the best to you and Chitra on this project!

Subject: [CBW_Exec] the Bedford Bibliography for Teachers of Basic Writing

Hi, all, and great to see everyone in New Orleans.

An update on the revision of the Bedford Bibliography for Teachers of
Basic Writing: as I mentioned at the Board meeting, Bedford/St. Martin's
contacted me about updating the text. I checked with Linda
Adler-Kassner but she is too busy and cannot help me with the project.

I now work with Chitra Duttagupta (she's my Associate Director and also
runs our ESL program) and would like to have her serve as my co-editor
for the revision of the bibliography.

At CCCC, we met with Karen Henry of Bedford/St. Martin's and she's fine
with Chitra and me doing the revision; we also suggested a that we could
include more texts that focused on ESL/BW, and Karen also liked that
idea.

Anyway, I assume that it's OK for me to proceed. If this plan is OK
with you all, then we'll soon ask you for recommendations on what we
might cut from the current version of the bibliography, as well as for
things we might want to add.

Thanks and best,

gg
