[CBW_Exec] the Bedford Bibliography for Teachers of BasicWriting

Ok by me. Shannon and I are working on pulling ideas together for the
Pre-Con, as you all know. I hope that the bib could capitalize on that
theme and have a strong section which highlights the strengths of
BWriters--e.g., out of school literacies, etc.

Sorry to have missed you all with getting in so late and all. But I
trust you had fun in New Orleans too! Greg, sounds like a wonderful
plan. Let me know if I can help as well. I also want to mention to
folks-if he didn't get a chance to tell you-- that Greg will be our Comp
Director at NAU starting next year. I could not be more thrilled. We
(and the pine cones :-)) finally convinced him to come up to the
mountains. Ya hoo! Best to you all, Laura

Hi Greg,

Great to see all of you too and trust you made it home safely. Your plan
sounds fine with me. Let me know if I can be of any help whatsoever. I
will definitely have some suggestions for articles related to Gen 1.5
students.

Best,

Sugie

Hi, all, and great to see everyone in New Orleans.

An update on the revision of the Bedford Bibliography for Teachers of

Basic Writing: as I mentioned at the Board meeting, Bedford/St. Martin's

contacted me about updating the text. I checked with Linda

Adler-Kassner but she is too busy and cannot help me with the project.

I now work with Chitra Duttagupta (she's my Associate Director and also

runs our ESL program) and would like to have her serve as my co-editor

for the revision of the bibliography.

At CCCC, we met with Karen Henry of Bedford/St. Martin's and she's fine

with Chitra and me doing the revision; we also suggested a that we could

include more texts that focused on ESL/BW, and Karen also liked that

idea.

Anyway, I assume that it's OK for me to proceed. If this plan is OK

with you all, then we'll soon ask you for recommendations on what we

might cut from the current version of the bibliography, as well as for

things we might want to add.

Thanks and best,

gg
