[Laura Gray-Rosendale]

Hi, everyone! I would like to encourage you to join us on the McGraw-Hill
Teaching Basic Writing blog for discussions about basic writing and this
year's CCCCs!!! Please go to
http://facultyservices-auth.mhhe.com/community/index.php?option=com_myblog&I
temid=224.

There you will find a discussion being led by Billie Hara and Joanna Howard.
Billie is a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Texas, Arlington and an
Instructor of English at Texas Christian University . She teaches the
University stretch course (for underprepared writers) as well as other
first-year and second-year writing courses at TCU. She is currently
completing her dissertation on institutional responsibilities to
underprepared student athletes at NCAA-ranked Division I-A institutions.
Billie has a wide range of academic interests that include reflexive
photography in the classroom, documentary film, community engagement, and
pedagogy. Billie maintains two blogs, a general blog
(http://partsnpieces.typepad.com) and a photography blog
(http://partsnpieces.typepad.com/project365). Joanna Howard teaches Basic
Writing, FYC, Literature and Poetry at the Rockville campus of Montgomery
College in Montgomery County, Maryland. An avid blogger, she was one of the
founders of Community College English (http://cce.typepad.com/cce/), now run
by Holly Pappas of Bristol Community College in Massachusetts. Joanna feels
fortunate to have given her first presentation, "Using Blogging for
Professional Development," at the C's with
the late John Lovas and Dale Larsen. Currently, she is working on her
Moodle-based text for Basic Writing as well as a poetry cycle about Irish
ancestry. And, she blogs at 2 Board Alley: the Space for First Draft
Writing( http://giovannamaria.typepad.com).

Please do join us, if you can, and encourage your interested students and
colleagues to do so as well!!!! Best wishes, Laura
