[BSW] Study Abroad Reminder

Good Morning,



I wanted to send out a reminder about the study abroad. We only have 2 SPOTS left!!! But also 5 haven't paid the deposit so there is still a chance to secure a spot if you really want to!



This course offers a unique opportunity to explore social work in a developing country. In addition to the educational components, the itinerary includes exciting activities such as rainforest exploration, cave tours, ziplining, and snorkeling. It's going to be an unforgettable trip. The course counts as an elective.



Tuition for the course will be covered, but the cost of the trip itself is not. The scholarship amount is expected to be at least $1,000, which would leave an estimated out-of-pocket cost of approximately $1,500.



We are staying at an amazing hotel (Grand Resort and Residences), the pool is gorgeous. I stayed there in May.  Breakfast is included daily, and 2-3 lunches are also covered. Dinners will be at your own expense, with typical meal costs ranging from $15-$30.



To secure your spot, a nonrefundable $500 deposit is due. Please reach out to Dr. Smith for the deposit link.  Please note that a valid passport is required for travel.



Travel Dates:
Departure: Friday, January 2nd
Return: Friday, January 9th

We were accepting 6 social work and 6 psychology students, so space is limited. However, Psychology has not signed up as fast as Social Work students, so we have a few spots available. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Dr. Smith if you have any additional questions.
