[BSW] Deadline TODAY: Study Abroad

ALERT TODAY, March 1st, 2018 is the deadline to submit your interest application and be eligible to engage in the School of Social Work's Study Abroad experience is

TAMU-Commerce School of Social Work offers two study abroad opportunities as a social work elective.



The School of Social Work offers two opportunities for students to travel to Costa Rica and learn about the socio-political culture of this amazing country. This course counts as the Social Work Elective (SWK 497 or SWK 597) for both undergraduate and graduate students.



Students experience both the Rain Forest while staying at A&M-University's Soltis Center and the Metropolitan area while staying in San Jose.



Estimated cost for the course (Includes tuition & fees, airfare, ground transportation, hotel and some meals) is in a range from $2600 to $ 3000. (This cost includes all expenses except for 5 - 8 meals and souvenirs)



Students are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the International Studies Department and if eligible, financial aid can be used to offset the cost of the course.



Application to receive the $1,000 scholarship is due March 7th, 2018. - you will find a link at the bottom of the interest application.



Two Options:



Travel dates for 2018 are May 15th (depart for Costa Rica) through May 23th (return to the States)





*      Travel dates June 15th (depart for Costa Rica) through June 22nd (return from Costa Rica). Travel dates are the only dates this course will meet - no face to face class



Complete the Attached Interest Application Due TODAY MARCH 1st and each trip is limited to 15 students
