STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES

TAMU-Commerce School of Social Work offers two study abroad opportunities as a social work elective.

* During the May 2018 Mini Semester students visit San Jose Costa Rica and Stay at The Soltis Center located outside of Lafortuna Costa Rica.

o Travel dates for 2018 are May 15th (depart for Costa Rica) through May 23th (return to the States)

o Estimate cost for the course (Includes tuition & fees, airfare, ground transportation, hotel and some meals) is in a range from $2900 to $ 3200. Students are eligible to receive up to $1,000 scholarship from the International Studies Department. If eligible, financial aid can be used to offset the cost of the course.

* Unfortunately because Cuba has been placed on a travel advisory list we cannot visit there this year. However, during June 2018 Summer I session (5-week course) we are offering a second opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and experience the culture and social political aspects of the country.

o TAMU-Commerce school of social work students will be the first in the university to experience Cuba

o Estimated costs for the course (Includes tuition & fees, airfare, ground transportation, hotel and some meals) is in a range from $2900 to $ 3200. Students are eligible to receive up to $1,000 scholarship from the International Studies Department. If eligible, financial aid can be used to offset the cost of the course
