Alpha Delta Mu
National Social Work Honor Society

The purpose of Alpha Delta Mu is to recognize individual academic excellence and to enhance recognition of students who achieve superior scholarship. The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society was established in the Social Work Program at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce) in the Spring of 1978.

Criteria for Membership
If you are a social work student currently in the field, you may be eligible for membership.
The criterion includes:

*        3.00 GPA Overall

*        3.50 GPA in all Social Work classes

*        Completed 90 or more hours (Senior classification only)

*         Must be enrolled in the Field Practicum

Application forms are attached. All forms must be completed in duplicate; one remains with the local chapter and one is sent to the national offices. An advising transcript must be attached to the application.
In addition, students should attach a check payable to "Alpha Delta Mu" in the amount of $25. Twenty dollars is required by the national organization and the remaining five dollars goes to the local chapter to finance a senior reception at the end of the semester.
