Please see the job posting below. I am on the board of directors for this organization and have a vested interest in finding an MSW with knowledge of Domestic Violence Dynamics for this position. The YWCA in Enid is the oldest shelter for victims of DV in Oklahoma. Garfield County (Enid is the county seat) has an active and effective (we think) Coordinated Community Response. The Garfield Co. CCR is a model for Oklahoma. In additon to domestic violence, the Y has other programs. The Halfway House for women you are out of intensive inpatient substance abuse programs (including incarceration) is only one of 3 in the state where women can be with their children while "getting back on their feet". The day care program has acheived 3 star rating in the past year (highest possible) and is a valuable community resource.

 

If the person hired has an MSW and two-years post MSW practice experience, the burgeoning Social Work Department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University may be interested in offering an adjunct teaching position for one or two classes per year. Also, an MSW could help the Director of Field Education (yours truly) as a field instructor or perhaps a faculy liason. Only if the MSW were interested, of course. 

The staff of this organization is stellar, experienced, and top notch in serving the population of NW Oklahoma. The board is involved, but not too involved. 

 

This is a great place to live. Cost is living is low. Climate is favorable to most outdoor activities and actually provides four seasons. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are diverse and available locally. For more upscale needs Wichita, KS, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City are within a two hour drive.

Executive Director…
YWCA Enid is seeking an Executive Director.  This person should have experience in financial management, fundraising, strategic planning, public relations, interpersonal communication and program development.  Administrative and managerial experience is a must.  A bachelor’s degree, strong oral and written communications and computer knowledge and competency are required.  Experience and/or familiarity with nonprofit organizations is preferred.  Experience in grant writing and interfacing with boards of directors is a plus.
