[bsw] CSWE Site Visit - Success

Our CSWE Site Visit is over and the exit interview with the site team
indicated that our program is strong, our students are well-prepared,
our faculty are competent, and our field instructors are extremely
committed!  We have two areas of the standards that will require a
response:  one is related to clarification of the Advanced Generalist
curriculum and the other is more evidence of policy content in the MSW
program.  We are all very pleased with the outcome of the
re-accreditation visit.  

 

Their written report will be submitted to the CSWE Commission on
Accreditation by mid-October, we will have two weeks after that to
submit a written response to their report, and then all goes before the
CSWE Board for approval in February 2009.

 

I want to thank each and every one of you who made this process such a
success, especially those who committed extra time to drive to Commerce
for prep meetings and to meet with the site visitors.  The faculty spent
many, many hours over the past two years preparing for this experience.
We have a wonderful program and this process affirms our efforts to
educate future social work professionals - to quote Hillary
Clinton...."It takes a village"!!  Thanks to you all!! :-)
