Step #1-IF the person has graduated they send their transcript and
application to the TEXAS Board of Social Work Examiners --
http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/socialwork/sw_forms.shtm
<http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/socialwork/sw_forms.shtm>
http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/socialwork/lswappl.doc
<http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/socialwork/lswappl.doc> If they have yet to
graduate they must send a letter from the University indicating graduation
is near.
Step #2--- Texas will reply with an approval ID number that the student will
then use to register at ASWB.
Step #3--- With your Texas approval # you contact ASWB
http://www.aswb.org/exam_info_registering.shtml
<http://www.aswb.org/exam_info_registering.shtml> and register for the
exam. ASWB will provide you a number with which you must contact an exam
center.
Step #4---Contact the Bill Priest Center
http://www.billpriestinstitute.org <http://www.billpriestinstitute.org/>
and register for your test---you have a window of time---I think six months

Brenda,
I tried to apply for licensing exam but couldn't figure it out. The ASWB
website said you have to be approved by a board in your jurisdiction? Can
you tell me how to register online for the exam?
Thanks,
Abby Miller
