[Artmajors] Summer I course seats available

Hi all,

We are offering a new class this summer ­ ART 497.01W, Gender, Art, and
Popular Culture! It is all going to be online, and will encourage engagement
with different types of media. It will feature assignments that include
analyzing art work like Nikki S. Lee¹s project series, looking at Britney
Spears (and the artists who refer to her), discussing gender roles in Disney
films, and evaluating graphic novels and comics. I¹m really excited about
it, and know that it will be a lot of fun. Besides doing readings of all
types of media, music video/film/tv episode screenings, viewing of art and
art projects, the main assignments will be to engage in class discussion via
blog entries, write short evaluations of the media, and create a visual
essay on advertising/art/media. The class will be open enough so that you
can pursue your own thematic interests (be it romantic comedies or science
fiction or indie films or high art).

We need a few more students to register for the class to make! Keep in mind
that this course can count as one of your upper level or art history
electives! If you have any questions about anything, including requirements
