1- Airbrush Painting on T-shirts Workshop/Gerard Huber



Main Art Building/room 202               Limit: 8


Students will design, cut their own stencils and airbrush their own t-shirt.
**Students need to bring:
One pre-washed white t-shirt (if the t-shirt is not pre-washed the sizing will repel the paint) and Inspiration
All other materials will be provided.

2-Collage: Mixed-media Assemblage/Brian Weaver
            WTFA 129                                                       Limit: 12

Students will work with found text and images to create postcard sized imagery that elicits emotive content and ideas. The various art images created will then be encased under a Plexiglas and double-sided adhesive polymer material to solidify the imagery and the idea itself.

3- A Modern Twist to Ancient Sand Painting/Renee Wallace
            Main Art Building/room 206                            Limit: 10

Participants will use colored sand on a sticker to create interesting and colorful images which will focus on texture, balance, and unity.  All materials will be provided.

4- Raku Ceramics Workshop/Pati Dye
            WTFA/room 116                                              Limit: 10

Learn the ancient traditional Japanese method of firing called Raku. Each   participant will be given a ceramic plate to decorate with glaze and then will participate in the firing of their piece. Bring a ling-sleeved work shirt. Bisque ware, brushes and glazes will be provided.

5- Twist and Shout: Bookmaking/Christine Blackhurst
              Main Art Building, room 103A                                                              Limit: 10

Learn how to make a spiral bound sketchbook. In this workshop, participants will create each aspect of a spiral bound sketchbook including; cutting paper to size, fashioning covers, and making the coil binding.
All materials and tools will be provided.

6- Make Your Mark, Dry Point Etching/Emily Broussard
WTFA/room 213                                              Limit: 5

In this workshop, you will be learning a brief history of printmaking and the contemporary method of etching into Plexiglas. Using a provided black and white photograph, a 3”x4” piece of Plexiglas, and a scribe, you will etch the image into the Plexiglas, ink the plate, run it through the press, and behold! You will experience the magic of your first print! So, come join Emily Broussard and in this unparalleled experience in art making, and MAKE YOUR MARK! All materials will be provided.

7-Digital Photographic Manipulations/Leigh Merrill
      WTFA 207                                                        Limit: 10

In this workshop participants, will work in Photoshop to learn how to do simple
techniques to create amalgamations, anaglyphs, text-edited glitch imagery, and more. All materials will be provided.

8-Illuminated Sculpture/Jareth Arcane
   Main Art Building/room 205                           Limit: 10 limit

Using everyday materials, participants will create a sculpture that will be lit from the inside. This project can be easily adapted to be made more simple or more complex.
All other materials will be provided.

9-Into the Darkroom with Pinhole Photography/Vaughn Wascovich
WTFA/Darkroom                                 Limit: 10



Come spend time in the darkroom! We will touch upon the basic workings and history of pinhole photography. Each participant will create their own – one of a kind pinhole image. Experience and watch the magic of a print develop into a picture right before your eyes. All materials will be provided.

10-Inkjet Print Transfers using Hand Sanitizer/Brandon Hudson
            Print lab WTFA                                                Limit: 8

Learn how to transfer a photograph using an inkjet printer and hand sanitizer. Use any photograph you like and create a one-of-a-kind print. Also, use drawing materials such as colored pencils to alter images to be transferred. Learn how this process changes your photo with its many potential possibilities.
Materials provided, but students are welcome to bring 1 or 2 of their own image files.

11- Glass Fusing/Joseph Daun
               Sculpture Lab                                                   Limit: 10

Participants will make and learn to fuse glass right in the microwave oven   creating stunning pendants; fashionable earrings; snazzy bracelets and much more. All materials and tools will be provided.

12-Letterpress Printing: Relief Printing/Jonathon Kimbrell and Casey McGarr

Sculpture Lab                                                              Limit: 8



Get creative with wood type and images in this special workshop with Jonathon Kimbrell and Casey McGarr, who will explore various ways of using wood type. Participants will print a poster with found text and images to create a small poster

Responsive Drawing to Stimulates Creative Thinking/Tanner Harmening
            Main Art Building/room 202               Limit: 10

Participants will begin with different sheets of paper that have a small pre-drawn   image on them. The participants will draw names from a cup of things to draw such as a fish, house, etc. Participants will have 5 min to draw something that related to the name they pulled out while tying it in to the image that was already on the paper before them, and then pass the paper around and draw another name. At the end, teachers will be able to take home a drawing. This is a great way to get your students creative juices flowing.
