Dear

We are excited to present some new workshops this year for the upcoming Art Educators Workshop that will be held on Friday, April 10th. We hope you can attend this fun filled day at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Many of the workshops from the past were so popular that we are bringing them back. Listed below are the new workshops that have been added. For more information on all workshops please visit the website:

New workshops:
Kite-making/Gerard Huber
Main Art Building 206 Limit: 12
Construct your own kite and decorate it with imagery inspired by your favorite artist. Materials will be provided at the workshop. Bring a book for reference or inspiration if desired.

In Between Two and Three Dimensions: Relief Carving in Clay/Barbara Frey
WTFA 116 Limit: 10
A thick clay tile will be carved in relief and then painted with underglazes. All materials and tools will be provided.

Still Life Painting Workshop/ Michael Odom
Main Art Building 201 Limit: 10
(This workshop meets for both the morning and afternoon sessions).
Still life painting has a long and important history in art. From ancient Roman frescoes to Baroque Holland to 20th Century France, still life paintings have figured prominently in the visual expressions of artists and cultures. This workshop will entail a quick, down and dirty oil painting experience, which addresses alla prima (from the first) painting. We will set up a simple arrangement of objects and paint without first drawing them. We will explore questions of color mixing and chiaroscuro, the use of light and shadow to evoke a sense of three dimensions on a two-dimensional surface.

Time Lapse Photography/ Leigh Merrill
WTFA 207 Limit: 10
Time-lapse photography is an exciting way to condense time and show change or transformation. In this workshop, we will explore the tools and techniques to create time-lapse video. Learn how to set up your camera, expose and create time-lapse photography with Photoshop.

Come join the fun and at the same time receive four CPE hours!

Looking forward to seeing you again this year,
Marilyn
