[Areamusicteachers] Fall Lion's Share Newsletter for Elementary Music Specialists

[Darla Meek]

Dear Colleagues ~

Welcome back! Time to pull out those fall leaves and pumpkins—autumn is on its way.

Click on the link below to find the Fall issue of The Lion’s Share—a newsletter for elementary music specialists. It includes…

· Our Fall Elementary Music Workshop with Linda Harley (formerly with the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas), Teaching Children to Sing. This workshop was designed specifically for teachers who specialize in an instrument other than voice, and who may feel uncomfortable about guiding children to sing properly. Linda will provide effective techniques, a proper sequence, and some excellent repertoire for developing singers.

· OPERA on the ROAD! Bring the TAMUC Opera touring ensemble to your school!

· Information on the second TAMUC Master of Music Cohort, with FREE tuition for the second summer!

· Do you have an Orff Ensemble or another performing group? Enter the Bill Martin Jr Memorial Symposium Musicians of Class Competition to win a chance to play on campus for an enthusiastic audience of 450!

· A name game lesson plan!
